Hey there, I know y'all remember me posting about using MG's methods to train my gaited half draft for Mounted Security last year to work the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN. Well, I worked diligently with my smaller MFT gelding, Banner, and he passed the test as well! He did FANTASTIC at Bonnaroo this year with a friend of mine riding him. She had only had three very short rides on him before we headed up to Tennessee and he worked hard for her. There were three times more patrons this year than last year. This year we had 123K patrons in attendance!! That was A LOT to ask out of any horse! Banner was the horse that really gave me an introduction to Michael Gascon and he worked with him at the Center in Hattiesburg on Super Bowl Weekend 2019. I had had so many difficulties with Banner before bringing him to Michael. He was disrespectful and would ignore my directions, especially if there were mares around as he was cut late in life. If there were a mare around, he would jump forward, pulling the reins out of your hands, and not stop. He would also rear up to avoid contact and scare you into getting off. He didn't know how to balance himself and refused lateral movements and didn't bend well. His Foxtrot gait suffered for it and he was very bumpy in his gait. After just a 1 hour ride, Michael had figured him out and told me everything I needed to do to improve Banner. I worked hard on it and watched all the videos I could get my hands on, all the way through the Respect series. This boy has made a COMPLETE turn around!! He was ridden ONLY in an MG halter for 3 years and it really helped me communicate better with him as I have terrible arthritis in my hands and needed that extra tool! He is now riding comfortably in a low port kimberwick bit(the company I work for requires a small shank bit for liability purposes) and doing everything I ask out of him! He is so desensitized that he was approved for night shift which is the most difficult shift to work for horses unused to all the crazy stimulation. These are 12 hour shifts! I couldn't be more proud of both of my boys!! Thanks to MG and his methods, I am doing what I always dreamed of doing! Thanks so much!
